The new funding of $15,000 referred to in Cr Bourke’s e-newsletter article dated 24/11/2016, is the latest of several successful applications for the ongoing Wolston Creek Bushland Reserve Restoration Project. Funding is used to pay for discriminate weed control by Council Approved Contractors. It is slow and steady work, respective of nature and at nature’s pace.  Since 2012, this community conservation project has received a total of $155,000 in funding from various local and state sources. Applications for funding are coordinated by Wolston Creek Bushcare Group with the assistance of Brisbane City Council Support Officers from BCCs Community Conservation Partnership Program. The project is also supported by Wolston & Centenary Catchments and Brisbane Catchments Network.
